TEAM ASSIGNMENT 1

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE

This assignment focuses on the content of sessions 1 to 6. Its purpose is to highlight the role of Statistics as a Management Decision Support tool. It requires both the application of sampling methodology to emphasise the important stages in the quantitative decision support process; and the use of decision analysis to illustrate the value of decision structuring and synthesis.

THE TASK

Identify a relevant and meaningful management problem from within a business unit (that one or a number of team members have experience in) that will require the collection of primary data to address the issues arising from this situation.
