Healthy Eating Plan
According to the pyramid menu planner, in order for me to maintain my weight and plus consume the necessary nutrients daily; my diet should be based on 2000 calories daily. It recommends that I consume 6oz of grain, 2.5 cups of vegetables, 2 cups of fruits, 3 cups of milk, 5.5oz of meat and beans, and at least 6 teaspoons of oil.
A very close comparison to that of the recommended daily allowances is that of my own diet. An example of my current diet is fresh vegetable juice twice a day, which includes 16 ounces for breakfast and 16 ounces for lunch. I eat various snacks throughout the day that can include nuts, fiber and protein bars, and fruits. Dinner includes a well balanced meal with either fish or chicken, and every now and then red meat, combined with a fresh vegetable and brown rice.
