Gandhi
Mahatma (Mahatma means "great soul") Gandhi devoted his life to peace and brotherhood in order to achieve social and political progress. His nonviolent resistance to British rule won independence for India, he was then assassinated by a religious fanatic.
He studied law at University College in London. Students weren't very fond of him just because he was Indian. This was an example of the immorality of apartheid. In spite of how smart you were or what your status was you were still a victim of racism
Gandhi declared that he would go to jail or even die before obeying an anti-Asian law. Thousands of Indians joined him in this civil disobedience campaign.
He launched a non-cooperation campaign against Britain, urging Indians to spin their own cotton and to boycott British goods, courts, and government. This led to his imprisonment for 2 years. In a protest of a tax salt, Gandhi led thousands of Indians on a 200-mile march to the sea to make their own salt.......
