The Adventures of Tom Sawyer takes place in the small town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. Tom Sawyer is the main character of the book. He is an imaginative young boy who always seems to be getting into trouble. Tom is very adventurous and never passes up a chance to play pirates, robbers, or soldiers. This book has multiple themes but the most important is knowing when its right to talk and tell the truth and when its better to be quiet or lie.
The story stars off as Tom climbs in his window after a long night of cavorting with his friends. Soon after that, he meets his new friend, Huckleberry Fin, who is a local outcast of the town and lives by his own terms. He was the son of the town drunk and had no one to tell him what to do. Tom and Huck become good friends. One night the two boys go to the graveyard in hopes to use a dead cat to get rid of some warts.
