Flattery

Lots of characters in the play Julius Caesar flattered someone or were flattered themselves. Those who flattered others used flattery to further themselves and others through the entire play. Even though there were many examples of this throughout the play, I am going to use two of the main examples, Brutus and Julius Caesar.
First, Cassius furthered Brutus into joining the conspiracy. One way Cassius got Brutus to join the conspiracy was by telling him to weigh the names Brutus and Caesar, they both hold equal weights. Then, he asked if one of the names was fonder to the ear than the other, yet he insisted that they were still the same. Another way Cassius persuaded Brutus to join the conspiracy was to write letters and strategically place them so that Brutus would find them and read them. These are just a few ways Cassius flattered Brutus.
