In the play I Never Sang For My Father by Robert Anderson the main characters are Gene and his father, Tom. The play develops around the conflict between these two characters, Gene and his dad are not close and argue all the time because of Tom's attitude; he is selfish and considers himself to be the center of the universe. For example, Tom fell in love with his favorite program, so he forgot to entertain or give an attention to his son Gene. When Tom's wife and Gene's mother Margaret die, Gene and his father are at loss, they don't know what to do so they argue again. Their love once is already to depart from the world.
