Code blue, code blue in room five…the gagging feeling is this first that is remembered when her eyes open. She reached up and touches her face and feels this tube coming out of her mouth. The nurse turns around and sees that she is starting to wake up. Then she walks over and sticks a needle in the IV bag hand beside the bed…..
This could be any teen in America on any give day. Is the rate of suicide higher in teenagers who have money or is it higher in teenagers who don't have money. Is the rate higher because of family or friends? Looking at the rate in which teen suicide is had risen over the past 20 plus years is alarming.
According to Lanny Bermam, Ph.D. the executive director of the American Association of Sociology teenage suicide has risen over 200 percent in the past 20 years.
