Over the years gangs have increased their power and dominance over communities in Chicago, and this has become a huge problem to everybody. It is very difficult for people to live normal lives when there are gang members standing right outside their houses or on street corners. I grew up in a neighborhood where gangs were in control, and they still are, but it is time to put that to an end. Gangs control many different aspects of a teenager's life such as where one can walk, how they can look, and where they can go to school. Because of this gangs need to be stopped and there are many ways in which people can contribute and help find the solution to this problem. Although they have existed for many years, gangs can be stopped, and there are ways for this to happen.
Gangs have controlled Chicago neighborhoods through various ways. They decide who can and cannot come into their neighborhood. For example, if a person is walking on the sidewalk, and the gang members don't know that......
