Gay marriage is a hot button issue in today society. I think it should be legal, but over 50% of all people in the United States oppose homosexual marriage, despite the fact that most are otherwise supportive of gay people's rights. Why can't they be? They love each other, and they aren't hurting anyone else. They suffer social injustice, the economic and social benefits, and being excepted in the constitution.
One of the reasons for the social injustice towards homosexuals is that some people are just not comfortable with the idea. This fact the people aren't comfortable with the idea mainly comes from the fact that for many years, society has promoted the idea that a marriage between members of the same sex is ludicrous and that "Homosexual sex is unnatural." This argument, often referring to homosexuality as a crime against nature, betrays a considerable ignorance of behavior in the animal kingdom.
