If we think outside of these theories applying logic but doubting obvious reasons we would be using philosophy. Philosophy is the rational investigation of questions about existence, knowledge and ethics by thinking "outside of the box." Rather than using logic and analytical thought to determine theories, psychology uses scientific methods of research to observe, define, and change human behavior.
