("Schizophrenia Research...") This disease is very depressing to families because it affects loved ones emotions, making it difficult for schizophrenic patients to function properly.

The word schizophrenia translates roughly into "split mind" (Bower). It is referred to this because the brain has on imbalance which causes it to malfunction. This malfunction may cause a disturbance which has a tendency to make another personality to appear in a person. This disorder is essentially a disturbance in thought process (Bower).
