This book is about the affects teenage drinking and driving has on people's lives.



Darcy is a senior in high school. She is full of life and liked by everyone. She is dating Shad. He is the high school quarterback. He comes from a wealthy family and is an only child. Shad has started drinking and driving. His coach has found out about it and suspended him from the team for a couple of weeks.



Darcy knows that something is up but she doesn't want her parents or her uncle to know. She wants to protect Shad because she likes him. On the way home from school Shad almost runs over Darcy. Her brother Nate wants to tell their parents but Darcy pleads with him to keep it quiet. Shad would never intentionally hurt Darcy.
