College isn't just about learning principles and graduating four years later; to me it's a way to meet new people, becoming accustomed with a new environment, and learning about a world outside of your own. I was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, and there really isn't much to see here. When I would go out to places such as New York City, I was thrilled by what goes on around here so quickly. I love how this City is the Mecca capital of the world. Everything is located within minutes of each other and it's easy to navigate around the City.
The reason why I see Barnard in my future is because I would like to add a bit of diversity to the college. I was recently in the College Board website, and when I saw that only 9% are Hispanic women, I knew that I could help change this percentage so that Barnard College is not only known for it's empowerment of women, but it's diversity as well. Diversity is really important to me, because everyone benefits from this. We all learn......
