"Why do we need/don't need government?"

The topic of government has always been a large area of conflict. In the following, I will discuss why we need a government.
First, what all is the government responsible for? We can begin to address this question by looking at the United States Constitution.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
As stated above the government is responsible specifically for (1) forming a more perfect union, (2) establishing justice, (3) insuring domestic tranquility, (4)providing for the common defense, (5) promoting the general welfare, and (6) securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
