The big bang theory
The big bang theory first originated from the early 1600's from a man named Galileo Galilei. The whole theory didn't unfold until the 20th century when powerful telescopes and other equipment allowed us to see the vastness of our galaxies as well as galaxies beyond ours. A priest by the name of George Lemaitre was the first to propose that the universe began with a big explosion. He claimed that the universe began with the explosion of a primeval atom. This proposal first came after he observed the red shift in distant nebulas. Years after Lemaitre's proposal the big bang theory got its first sign of justification. Edwin Hubble found experimental evidence-he found that distant galaxies in every direction are going away from us with speeds that were proportional to their distances.
